The Team headed down South to compete in Rnd of the Club championships (2nd) race meeting for season.

Hot weather and no rain for the town resulted in the tracks water supply running out the day prior to racing. To the Speedway’s credit they sourced Town water from the local Greyhound club just to let the race meeting go ahead, with each load of water costing the Speedway money. No water would mean dry/hard slick conditions come feature time, in which the team was prepared for.

Nine drivers would grid up for the first of three heats, heat one Kierah would finish 6th after starting 7th.

Heat two was to be a little bit more exciting as this was the first race meeting that Kierah was gridded into the field, reverse grid this time would see her start on pole! (1st ).

“ It was such a buzz to lead the field to greet the Green flag, when it dropped I didn’t get the jump I was hoping to, I was having trouble selecting gears through out the heat, it turns out that the gearbox had started to let go, melting gears down, to be able to hold on for a 3rd place finish I took that as a positive as I held off some quick guys behind me”

Carbie troubles would also rear it’s head, with a suspected piece of grit to be stuck in the carbie, this meant that it would “fuel” up creating a flooding effect within the carbie, excess fuel would flow out of the overflows and go on Kierah’s race suit on her leg, which was brought to the attention of her Dad, “I thought it was our fuel tap to be honest as we had trouble with that at the NSW Title and got it fixed for this race meeting, however after consulting engine guru Steve & Amanda the culprit was the Carbie”

The remaining Heat race and feature was just about getting some track time “there wasn’t really too much I could do to be honest, with the Carbie & Gearbox troubles, it was hard to get the car off the line, the guys would just go past me without any troubles at all, all in all it was a great meeting, found a few gremlins in which we will sort out for the Australian Title at Narrabri on 10th March 2018
